San Francisco became shorthand for both Democratic mismanagement and leftist extremism over the past decade. The story was clear, and not just on Fox News: if you vote for progressives, your city will get more dangerous. The toothpaste will be locked up, the businesses will leave, and politicians focusing on taking Abraham Lincoln’s name off of closed schools. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has led an insurgency from the commonsense majority since her 2022 election victory, and the cascading impact on policy and politics tells a far different story: a Democratic Party that evolved from tent-shrinking, polarizing, and poor governance into a comeback story. The Realignment’s Marshall Kosloff has been an advocate for a compelling political story from centrists, as stories from the far left and far right often prevail in political narrative. In this session, Marshall will interview D.A. Jenkins on the story of how centrists in San Francisco carved a path for power through common-sense governance and prioritizing voters’ needs in spite of progressive demands.
