What is ‘Welcome’?
‘Welcome’ refers jointly to the work of three distinct legal organizations that share aligned missions – WelcomePAC, The Welcome Party, and The Welcome Democracy Institute.
What is the relationship between WelcomePAC, The Welcome Party, and The Welcome Democracy Institute?
WelcomePAC: WelcomePAC is a federally authorized hybrid Political Action Committee. WelcomePAC’s work is electoral – identifying and backing bold pragmatic Democrats running for Federal office. WelcomePAC expands the Democratic tent to put more House districts in play. First started in 2021, our electoral work began with the support of Centrist Democratic candidates running for House seats in California and Colorado in 2022.
Gifts to WelcomePAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
The Welcome Democracy Institute: The Welcome Democracy Institute is a 501(c)(3) that conducts non-partisan, non-ideological research into the threats facing our Democracy. The WDI releases a quarterly Congressional Competitiveness Index and researches topics such as demographic shifts, gerrymandering, and political fundraising.
Gifts to the Welcome Democracy Institute are tax-deductible
The Welcome Party: The Welcome Party is a registered 501(c)(4). The Welcome Party launched in Fall 2019 with the mission to engage less ideological, less partisan swing voters and conduct research demonstrating why a big-tent party is both a reality and a necessity.
Gifts to The Welcome Party are not tax deductible but allow us the most flexibility in our work, which focuses primarily on nonpartisan education and advocacy on important issues to democracy.
